History

Completed in 1933, this was the first federal building constructed in Cherokee County. Designed under U.S. Supervising Architect James A. Wetmore, it combines Classical Revival forms with Art Deco and Moderne detailing typical of Depression-era federal architecture. The building housed the Jacksonville post office until 2000, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, and reopened as a coffee house in 2021.
