The Brazoria Bridge carried traffic over the Brazos River at Brazoria and was built in 1939 with county bond money and Public Works Administration funds, using local Depression-era labor. The 1,124-foot structure featured three Parker through-truss spans and was nicknamed 'the bridge that goes to nowhere' before its earthen approaches were built. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991; the state began demolishing it in 2023.
