History

Lyndon B. Johnson's boyhood home in Johnson City is an 1880s frame house where the future president lived with his family from 1913, at age five, until he graduated high school in 1924; he later delivered his first congressional campaign speech from its porch in 1937. Restored by the National Park Service to its 1920s appearance, it forms part of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965.
